OPEQ wishes to provide eco-responsible computing equipment to the largest number of organizations. If you wish to confirm whether your institution or organization meets the criteria below, you may call our request center at 514 870-0081 or write to demande@opeq.qc.ca.

We only ask one commitment from admissible orgnizations: the equipment must remain the property of the requesting institution.


FOR LOW-INCOME FAMILIES: By the CLIC OPEQ program we can now sell computer equipment to individuals under certain conditions.

Schools

All private and public schools accredited by the Ministry of Education may submit a request for computing equipment from OPEQ.

Example of projects:

  • Set-up a computer lab 
  • Provide new tools for a classroom
  • Update the library’s computer fleet 
  • Use for robotics 
  • Loan temporarily to youngsters with learning disabilities awaiting for technological assistance from the Ministry of Education
  • Equip classrooms to train adults on general or professional programs
  • Equip day care centers (homework assistance, play time, …) 
  • Create mobile lab to train helpers and personnel

Non-Profit Organizations (NPO)

Non-profit organizations registered with the Quebec Enterprise Register (NEQ) are eligible for the most part.

  • Senior association FADOQ
  • Youth community centers 
  • Museums 
  • Cultural organizations
  • Social organizations
  • Sports organizations
  • PACTE (Programme d’action communautaire sur le terrain de l’éducation) 
  • HIFIS

Home Based Day Care Centers

Note :

  1. Laptops are not available for home based day care centers . 
  2. 1 computer per 3 kids per year
  3. Can only be used by the kids of the day care.
  4. Requests for the home based day care centers must be approved by your coordinator’s office

Housing cooperatives (not-for-profit) - NEW

Examples of projects:

  • Operations daily management (equipment belong to organization and not to individuals)
  • Internet coffee for residents
  • Formation activities for residents

Your COOP is not a client of OPEQ

You must fill this form, we will contact you after verifying your eligibility..

IMPORTANT:

  • You must send us a copy of your Articles of Constitution or Articles of Amendment by e-mail.
  • The Articles of Constitution or Articles of Amendment are official documents issued by Direction des coopératives of the Government of Québec when registering your cooperative
  • The Articles of Constitution or Articles of Amendment should state that the cooperative will not pay any dividents and will not pay interest on the preferred shares issued to members.

Libraries

Public libraries may request computing equipment from OPEQ by simply submitting an online request (see our catalog). 

Requests must be approved by an accredited city representative.
